Gabi and I were privileged to attend the Yuvalok School Graduation Service on Friday.
Twenty young men and women passed out from the school which was founded in 1994 by our friend Sam Rajshekhar.
Yuvalok serves the poorest members of the community here in Bangalore, charging no fees, and offering education for children from the age of 4 to 16. We met one boy who was graduating who has been at Yuvalok school since nursery. Judging by that fellow, Yuvalok is doing a great job.
We were treated to a delicious biryani dinner which was made all the more atmospheric by a power cut which necessitated dining by candle light.
The programme was rounded off by the school choir – smartly dressed and smiling from ear to ear.
We thank God for organisations like Yuvalok and for Sam & Beulah’s work with the kids. What an inspiration!
